2025 GEG Lusofonia Festival  and GEG Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community

The “GEG Lusofonia Festival”, an annual cultural extravaganza jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), is set to fill your autumn with vibrant, immersive experiences.

Held at the Taipa Houses over two weekends from October 24 to 26 and October 31 to November 2 this year’s, “2025 GEG Lusofonia Festival” will continue the tradition of connecting people through cultural booths, performances, gastronomy, games—with a focus on Angolan culture. Over two October weekends, you can explore booths run by Macanese and Portuguese-speaking communities in Macau, and enjoy performances by groups from 10 Portuguese-speaking countries and regions, and over 40 local Portuguese-speaking artists. It is guaranteed to be a treat for the curious soul, no matter your age.  

This year’s festival is held in parallel with the 7th “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries,” of which the “GEG Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community” is a key event. On two Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 23 October and 2 November, a Mainland Chinese dance group and eight art troupes from Portuguese-speaking countries will bring their exuberant, energetic music and dance performances to the local community. Among the many dazzling events of the “Encounter in Macao” festival is the 7th “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival”. On November 14, Galaxy Cinemas will inaugurate the event with a screening of the opening film, Green Wave—the first in a series of impressive works on the theme of “Transcending Boundaries.”
