The New Year Osechi Lunch draws inspiration from Japan’s cherished Osechi cuisine, where each dish carries symbolic meaning for prosperity, health, and happiness. Highlights include prawns symbolizing longevity, sweet black beans representing diligence, and red-and-white pickled radish signifying celebration. The menu also features a regional-style ozoni soup prepared with Kagoshima yellowtail, accompanied by festive red rice with sea urchin and tofu skin, assorted sashimi, nigiri sushi, and Shizuoka Crown melon. Served in the elegant three-course “Zen” style, this meal offers a heartfelt celebration for families.
For a deeper dive into Japan’s gourmet heritage, the New Year Kaiseki Menu showcases refined techniques and premium ingredients. Begin with an elegant appetizer of cod milt tofu served in a Sanpokan orange with sea urchin and caviar, followed by a clear soup inspired by Shinshu-style yellowtail ozoni. The Hassun platter features seasonal delicacies such as lightly seared sea cucumber ovaries and simmered bamboo shoots, while the main course includes steamed Nagasaki tilefish and grilled Japanese Black Wagyu. The meal concludes with three pieces of nigiri sushi, clam soup, and fresh Shizuoka Crown melon for a refreshing finish.
