GEG Launches Expanded Shuttle Services to Support Macau’s Community Economy
Through an expanded shuttle network introduced in phases from late April,Galaxy Entertainment Group is supporting the Macao SAR Government’s “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses” initiative—improving access to traditional neighbourhoods and strengthening community-level visitor economies.
(Macau SAR, April 24, 2026) Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Macao SAR Government and the tourism industry to extend its shuttle bus services as the move to support the “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses”—an initiative aimed at revitalising traditional neighbourhoods, stimulating community economies and driving visitor flow to local small and medium‑sized enterprises, encouraging tourists to immerse in the charms of Macau’s traditional neighbourhoods.
As Macau looks beyond its best-known thoroughfares, Galaxy Macau is helping visitors travel deeper into the city, expanding its shuttle bus routes and introducing new stops, to encourage visitors to immerse themselves in Macau’s diverse community cultures. Under GEG’s coordination and guidance, Galaxy Macau has expanded its shuttle network in two phases from 25 April, encouraging visitor flow away from established circuits and into everyday districts where community life, local culture and small businesses shape the rhythm of the city.
New shuttle stops have been added across existing routes, offering easier access to neighbourhood temples, residential streets and historic corners of Macau with the aim of channelling spending power into community districts.
Themed “Taste the Streets Macau”, the first phase will see the “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses” operating every weekend from tomorrow until 26 July, with one departure per day across three routes. Newly added stops include Hong Kung Temple near Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, Rua Seis do Bairro Iao Hon in the Northern District, and Rotunda de Carlos da Maia (The Three Lampposts) in the central neighbourhood. Running alongside is the “Leisurely Weekend Tour”, featuring additional stops in the A‑Ma Temple area.
From 29 April to 5 May, GEG will continue its support with the second phase, “Holiday Vibes Macau”, timed for the Labour Day holiday period. Two enhanced routes will feature new stops at Avenida Comercial de Macau in Nam Van and Hong Kung Temple, improving access to the city centre and historic districts where festive activities are being staged by a range of participating organisations.
This programme reflects GEG’s long-term commitment to supporting Macao SAR Government policies, strengthening Macau’s appeal as the “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” through deepening the “Tourism+” cross-sector integration by multifaceted strategies and delivering tangible benefits to community economies across the city. On the foundation of the “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses” initiative and in collaboration with the Macao SAR Government and relevant stakeholders, Galaxy Macau helps streamline tourism experiences and further showcase Macau’s attractiveness.
