A symphony of fizz and sizzle unfolds at Teppanyaki Shou on May 30 in an unprecedented collaboration with one of France’s most storied estates: Champagne Drappier. Historically favored by icons like General Charles de Gaulle, this prestigious house invites you to explore a heritage defined by a bold, pioneering spirit.
Founded in 1808 and helmed by the family’s seventh and eighth generations, the maison is anchored in the terroir of Urville. Here, cuvées are aged in Cistercian cellars dating back to the 12th century. Their revival of rare, ancestral grape varieties—namely Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris—imbue their Champagnes with a distinct, robust complexity and a vinous character.
Seventh generation owner Michel Drappier will be our special guest, guiding you through a flight of six Champagnes featuring the iconic Carte d'Or Brut, celebrated for its aromatic richness, and the Grande Sendrée Millesime Brut 2012—a limited-yield masterpiece that blooms with a delicate, deep bouquet.
To complement these exceptional pours, our chefs have crafted a bespoke omakase menu where the precision of Japanese artistry meets the searing heat of the teppan. Each seasonal course is meticulously tuned to the Champagne’s evolution, creating a sophisticate dialogue between the elegance of Urville and the vibrant flavours of the sea and land.
