Andaz Macau tells the “Real Macau” story of a knowledgeable antique dealer who understands Macau’s multifaceted cultural heritage. The hotel serves as his residence – home to his vast collection of antiques and art that he has acquired over the years. As visitors explore different spaces throughout the hotel, they will learn about the history and culture of Macau through his pieces. Our Andaz team well knows the ins-and-outs of Macau, and will offer insight into hotel events, must-see cultural destinations and important happenings – inspiring guests to discover the authentic character of Macau through a kaleidoscope of diverse culture.
The interiors feature elements of the old Macau that have been reinterpreted in a new way. The traditionally bright colors and distinctive forms of Portuguese architecture, old maritime harbor ships and intricate artefacts of traditional Chinese culture have all played a role in shaping the design of Andaz Macau. The rooms and suites at Andaz Macau are inspired by the locale and feature a color palette of forest greens and earthy orange hues in a nod to the lush green landscapes of neighboring Coloane island. Each guestroom and suite features imaginative interiors, artwork and amenities inspired by the hotel’s surrounding neighbourhood.
Macau Steps
Located on 2/F to 6/F, Macau Steps is one of the most important storytelling locations in the hotel. This staircase tells the story of Macau’s past and present, beginning with the busy streets of Macau at the foot of the staircase and winding its way up to the peace and tranquility of nature. It is a journey of discovery between levels, where the real Macau presents itself through the art pieces and the captivating videos.
The soul of Macau has been cleverly interwoven into the very fabric of Andaz Macau. Through the diverse art collections on display throughout the hotel such as intricately embroidered couture gowns, ceramic wall sculptures, vibrant paintings and installations, guests will experience the “Real Macau”.
The “JUXTAPOSE” art piece collection at Andaz Macau features a series of steel sculptures by Malaysian artist Tang Mun Kian. In a tribute to Macau’s rich cultural heritage, the artist tells witty “stories in steel” by showcasing the city’s historic East-West architecture, iconic landmarks and the insights of local residents through his sculptures. JUXTAPOSE portrays contrasts found in everyday life, celebrates the old, and values conservation as an investment for future generations.

A collection of ceramic blue-and-white plates featuring European and Asian illustrations from the 18th and 19th centuries have all been uniquely designed for the wall installation at Andaz Kitchen. The artist behind “Layers of Tradition”, has thoughtfully grouped together motifs in several themes – food, endemic species to Macau and historic trade.
