Koi Kei Bakery began as a mobile cart on a street corner, primarily selling peanut brittle and ginger candy. In mid-1997, it opened its first store, quickly gaining fame for pioneering the on-site production and sale of freshly made, charcoal-fired almond cookies and egg rolls. Today, the bakery offers over 300 varieties of products, with its almond cookies, egg rolls, peanut brittle, and dried pork/beef jerky remaining the most popular among customers.
