Treat Yourself to a Feast of Delicious Malaysian Eats
(Hong Kong and Macau, 27 July 2018) ─ Malaysian food is renowned across the globe for its enticing aroma and electrifying flavors. This summer, Galaxy Macau™ is proud to organize the annual Malaysian Food Festival in Macau for the seventh year in a row. Offering a true taste of Malaysia, Galaxy Macau will present 10 types of top durians directly imported from Malaysia. Also sharing an authentic taste of Malaysia, 15 top guest chefs will be visiting to offer their signature dishes. Happening from 16 to 31 August at Oasis on the Grand Resort Deck, the Malaysian Food Festival at Galaxy Macau is the must-attend event of this summer for foodies.
10 World-famous Fresh Durians & Over 20 Signature Durian Dishes
Guests attending the Festival will get the unparalleled opportunity to sample 10 famous durians directly imported from Malaysia – the most durian varieties of any single promotion in Macau. Opened fresh and served immediately, durian flavors will range in intensity from mild to strong. Some highlights include the renowned D24 ‘SULTAN’, a popular variety known for its sweet and nutty richness with a slightly sharp finish; D163 ‘HOR LOR’, the prize-winning durian in a 1987 durian competition at Balik Pulau, with a full-bodied taste and alluring creamy sweetness; and the D197 ‘MUSANG KING’, another must-try option bursting with strong durian aroma, golden yellow flesh and creamy texture.
There will also be a menu of hot durian dishes which utilize the famous fruit in unique and exciting ways. Adventurous diners can take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to taste Baked Lobster with Durian and Cheese, a special creation just for Galaxy Macau which brings together succulent lobster flesh baked with decadent durian and cheese; Double Boiled Coconut Chicken Soup with Durian and Abalone, rich in tropical zest and nutritive elements; and D24 Durian Pizza with Mozzarella Cheese and Gold Flakes. Durian-flavored desserts include Durian Cream Brulee and Durian Ice Cream, along with Durian Portuguese Tarts and Durian Serradura – putting a uniquely Malaysian twist on traditional Portuguese sweets. Meanwhile, Galaxy Macau’s in-house Malaysian Chef Ong Soo Wan has curated a delicious menu of Malaysian favorites such as Bak Kut Teh in Clay pot and Pangkor Island Laksa.
Guest Chef Hawker Stalls
This year, 15 top guest chefs from Malaysia will participate in the Malaysian Food Festival, each preparing a different regional Malaysian dish to serve at traditional hawker stalls. The signature Malaysian dishes, honed by decades of experience, include piping hot fried Oyster Omelettes from Chef Toon Chin Wieu, served with fresh coriander and the chef’s secret chili sauce recipe; three types of soft, steamy roti (bread) from Chef Seeni Mohamed bin Sheik Abidin, accompanied by South Indian-style curries; and Kajang Satay from Chef Mohammad Riyazuddin bin Pakeer Mohamed, a popular Malaysian skewered meat that’s seasoned and grilled to perfection.
