Galaxy Macau Organizes the 7th Malaysian Food Festival

(Hong Kong and Macau, 17 August 2018) – Presenting a true taste of Malaysia for the seventh year in a row, Galaxy Macau™ is proud to bring back the annual Malaysian Food Festival from August 16 to 31, at Oasis on the Grand Resort Deck.

A kick-off ceremony was held yesterday at Oasis. Officiating guests included Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Mr. Marhafizman Mohamed Daud, Deputy Director of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Hong Kong Office); Ms. Jessie Foo, Executive Manager of Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong & Macau); Mr. William Tang, celebrity fashion designer, food critic and travel blogger; Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Director of International Premium and Mass Market Development of Galaxy Entertainment Group; and Mr. Bobby Wong, Executive Chef of Galaxy Macau.

This year, the Malaysian Food Festival at Galaxy Macau invites guests to enjoy 10 world-famous durians directly imported from Malaysia – the most durian varieties of any single promotion in Macau. Opened fresh and served immediately, durian flavors will range in intensity from mild to strong. Some highlights include the renowned D24 ‘SULTAN’, a popular variety known for its sweet and nutty richness with a slightly sharp finish; D163 ‘HOR LOR’, the prize-winning durian in a 1987 durian competition at Balik Pulau, with a full-bodied taste and alluring creamy sweetness; and the D197 ‘MUSANG KING’, another must-try option bursting with strong durian aroma, golden yellow flesh and creamy texture. There will also be a menu of over 20 mouth-watering durian dishes which uses the king of fruits in innovative and exciting ways – including Baked Lobster with Durian and Cheese, Double Boiled Coconut Chicken Soup with Durian and Abalone, and D24 Durian Pizza.

In addition, 15 famous street chefs from Malaysia are invited to the Festival, each preparing their signature Malaysian dishes to serve at traditional hawker stalls. The must-try dishes, honed by decades of experience, include Oyster Omelettes, Pangkor Island Laksa, and Kajang Satay.

The 7th Malaysian Food Festival only runs for a limited period of two weeks, from August 16 to 31, at Oasis in Galaxy Macau. It will be served during two sets of dinner period, from 5:30pm to 8pm and 8:30pm to 11pm daily; priced at MOP588 per person.
