Jeannie Cho Lee is the first Asian Master of Wine (MW) and an award-winning author, wine critic, judge and educator. She serves as Master of Wine for Galaxy Macau™, overseeing the development of its carefully selected wine list, food pairing aspects and a series of dinners, seminars and other special events.
Known as one of the world's leading voices in wine, Jeannie is well regarded for her regular wine columns and articles, which can be found in several top publications including Wine Spectator and Revue du Vin. She is currently Contributing Editor for Decanter UK, weekly columnist for Hong Kong's South China Morning Post and China Business News published in Chinese Mainland. As well, she is also a consultant to Singapore Airlines. Recognised for her contributions to the wine industry, Jeannie received the Vinitaly Award in 2009.
Jeannie’s pioneering book about Asian cuisine and wine entitled Asian Palate won the Gourmand Award for Best Food and Wine Pairing Book in the World as well as the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Award and the International Organization for Vine & Wine in 2011. Jeannie’s second book, Mastering Wine for the Asian Palate, was recently published in June 2011.
Jeannie holds a Certficat de Cuisine from Cordon Bleu, a Master Sake Sommelier Certificate from Japan’s Sake Service Institute and is a Certified Educator from UK's Wine & Spirits Education Trust as well as the US Society of Wine Educators. Jeannie’s interest in wine began at Oxford University where she spent her junior year before returning to Smith College where she obtained her first degree. She also holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University.
